Carlos A Yepez, a laborer from Hackensack charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Sexual Assault by Sexual Contact
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Hackensack Police Department conducted an investigation that started when a minor told others that she was sexually touched. The investigation revealed that a Nine-Year old victim stated that she was inappropriately touched by Carlos Yepez in the summer of 2016 in Hackensack, New Jersey.
As a result of the investigation, on May 5, 2017, Carlos Yepez was arrested on in Paramus, New Jersey and charged with one count of Sexual Assault by Sexual Contact, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b, a 2nd degree crime; and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a., a 2nd degree crime.
Yepez was detained in the Bergen County Jail pending his arraignment in front of a juge who will advise him of the charges brought against him. Yepez had Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court for a first appearance on May 6, 2017, when he was remanded to the Bergen County Jail to await his detention hearing on Monday, May 15th in front of Judge Edward Jerejian.
All persons are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
