Shaquille Fuller, 24, was found guilty of all the charges brought against him and has been sentenced to 50 years to life by New York State Supreme Jury. His convictions are:

One count of second-degree murder.
One count of second-degree attempted murder.
One count of first-degree attempted assault.
Four counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
One count of second-degree assault.

The first crime was committed December 12, 2014. Walking down Avenue D of the East Village, a 19-year-old was shot by Fuller in the back. The victim got away and ended up at the hospital where he was able to get the bullet removed.

February 23, 2015, around the same location, Fuller shot Shemrod Isaac, 33, three times after following him and inciting and argument. Isaac was a father and aspiring rapper, on the brink of a record deal, who went by the name “Sham Da God”. He was pronounced dead at the hospital that same day. Meanwhile Fuller went back to New Jersey where he was arrested three days after the incident after an investigation showed him on a security tape fleeing the scene.

Given the nature of these murders, because of the gun violence, the New York District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. announced, “As this appropriately lengthy sentence illustrates, we will seek maximum penalties for those responsible for violent crime in order to keep our communities safe.
