Fort Lee, NJ resident Victor Jiatz was arrested and charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault, Sexual Contact, Endangering The Welfare of a Child and False Imprisonment. The Investigation into the case was led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Fort Lee Police Department.

On March 21, 2020, the Fort Lee Police Department received a 911 call informing them that Victor Jiatz had sexually assaulted a juvenile on various occasions. After a thorough investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Fort Lee Police Department, Victor Jiatz was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2A(1), a 1st degree crime; one count of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a 2nd degree crime; one count of Sexual Assault By Sexual Contact, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2b, a 2nd degree crime; and False Imprisonment, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:29-1A, a disorderly persons offense.

Jiatz was transported to Bergen County Jail to await his first appearance at the Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ. The charges are accusations and the defendant will remain innocent until proven guilty. The Bergen County Prosecutors Office is under the supervision of Chief Robert Anzilotti. The Fort Lee Police Department is under the supervision of Chief Matthew J. Hintze. The prosecution into the case will be led by Mark Musella.
