On Monday, December 2nd, 2024, Pleasantville Police received a 911 call at 1:54 a.m. about an unresponsive female later identified as Leslianet Quintana-Betancourt, 25 years old. Officers responded to 132 Edgewater Avenue, Pleasantville, to transport Quintana-Betancourt to the Atlantic City Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. A joint-investigation was then launched that revealed Quintana-Betancourt died from several blunt force injuries. Following the investigation, Quintana-Betancourt’s live-in boyfriend, Boris Lainez-Rosales, was arrested in connection with her death. Boris Lainez-Rosales was then charged with Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence and placed in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges are only accusations, and Boris Lainez-Rosales is assumed to be innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
