On January 3rd, 2025, charges against Sandeep Kumar were announced by Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Colonel Patrick J. Callahan, Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police. Sandeep Kumar was charged with Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder in the case of Kuldeep Kumar’s death in Manchester Township around the date of October 22nd.
According to authorities, on December 14th a deceased body was reported and discovered in a state of advanced decomposition in Manchester Township’s Greenwood Wildlife Management Area. Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, New Jersey State Police Major Crime Unit, New Jersey State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Manchester Township Police Department, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and New Jersey Conservation Police Department were all involved in the discovery of the body. The following day, the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office performed a post-mortem autopsy on the body and identified both the cause of death and the deceased individual. Kuldeep Kumar was identified as the deceased, and it was determined that he died from several gunshot wounds to the chest.
An investigation was launched by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and New Jersey State Police Major Crime Unit. It was determined that the matter of Kuldeep Kumar’s death was homicide. It was also discovered that Kuldeep Kumar’s family reported him missing on October 26th, 2024.
Initially it was concluded that Sourav Kumar, Guarav Singh, Nirmal Singh, and Gurdeep Singh, all acted together to carry out the murder together. While they were all charged separately, it would not be until the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, New Jersey State Police Major Crime Unit, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Manchester Township Police Department determined later into the investigation that Sandeep Kumar also acted with the previously mentioned individuals and helped them carry out Kuldeep Kumar’s murder.
Sandeep Kumar was taken into custody on January 3rd, 2025, being processed at the New Jersey State Police Barracks before then being transferred to the Ocean County Jail.
The charges against Sandeep Kumar are only accusations and he is to remain innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
