Morris Plains Resident Martinia Heath Charged with Theft and Forgery

Story by Ethan

On December 23rd, 2024, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel announced the arrest of Martinia Heath, age 43. Martinia Heath was charged with second-degree Theft by Deception, second-degree Impersonation, and both third and fourth-degree Forgery

According to Union County Prosecutor’s Office officials, Sergeant Alex Lopez of the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Special Prosecutions Unit led an investigation into Martinia Heath. The investigation was prompted by a referral made by Corner Property Management of Springfield. It was revealed that while Martinia Heath was working as the on-site property manager at the Mountain Club Condominium complex in Morris County, she was falsifying records and correspondence. This scheme was with the intent to defraud the company, and Martinia Heath lost Corner Property one million dollars between 2019 and 2023.
The Union County Prosecutor’s Office states that the charges against Martinia Heath are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
