Story by Ethan

On October 31st, 2024, the charge of false public alarm against Adele Ulrich, 72, was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. The charge against Adele Ulrich was a result of a multi-month investigation conducted by Chief Matthew Finck

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Intelligence & Counter-Terrorism Unit notified the Tenafly Police Department of a potential bomb threat at Holy Name Medical Center. This scare came from an unknown telephone who remained anonymous by using technology to keep the caller ID anonymous. The anonymous caller claimed that there were several bombs inside of Holy Name Medical Center that were going to detonate. First responders from the Teaneck Police Department, Teaneck Fire Department, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad, and hospital officials all responded to the threat to ensure the safety of the facility and all people within it. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Threat Management Unit and detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit investigated the anonymous call that they initially received the bomb threat from. It was determined that there was no threat that existed in the hospital. Further investigation led to the identification of Adele Ulrich being the anonymous caller, leading to her being charged on October 29th, 2024.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Adele Ulrich are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
