On June 12th, 2024, the arrest of Amr A. Khodeer, age 24, was announced by Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Francisco Roman Jr., and Bridgewater Township Chief of Police John B. Mitzak. Amr A. Khodeer was charged with third-degree Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and served with numerous motor vehicle summonses.
According to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, Amr A. Khodeer was seen on Union Street in Somerville, New Jersey, at approximately 2:15 p.m., on June 4th, 2024. A construction vehicle was then taken from the area shortly after, driving away while speeding and hitting two other vehicles and a building in Bridgewater Township, New Jersey. The vehicle was then rendered useless and the culprit began to run on foot before being apprehended by law enforcement. The assailant was identified as Amr A Khodeer, and he was transported to a local hospital alongside the drivers of the other cars that were struck to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Amr A Khodeer are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
