On Thursday December 12th, 2024, Anthony M. Spina faced a grand jury, and was ultimately charged with Third-Degree Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Mischief and Criminal Mischief.
Allegedly, between the dates of June 1st and September 1st in 2023, Anthony M. Spina and another known individual flew drones, also classified as UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), over residential swimming pools. As the UAVs were being flown, Anthony M. Spina and the other individual would drop dyes into the pools they were flying over. This would turn the water in the pools to become a greenish color and alert the owners, as well as cause over $4,000.00 in damages. It was also claimed that between the dates of August 2nd and August 15th in 2023, there were several other separate incidents of Anthony M. Spina using flying drones to drop dye packs into pools at a condominium complex in Atlantic City.
Police investigations would lead to tracking software being used, specifically to trace the previous flights of the UAVs. This would end up linking Anthony M. Spina and his accomplice to the drones used, one being recovered entirely. The uncovered info connected to Anthony M. Spina led to his arrest.
The charges are only accusations, Anthony M. Spina is assumed to be innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
