Elmwood Park Resident Charged with Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury

On October 12, 2017, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office broadcasted the arrest of a man named Carmen Lombardi for a hit-and-run scenario resulting in serious bodily injury. Carmen Lombardi is a forty-two (42) year old resident of Elmwood Park, New Jersey. Law enforcement from multiple department worked together to finding and arresting Lombardi.

On October 12, 2017, the Fort Lee Police Department were notified by a variety of sources that stated there was a motor vehicle accident involving an individual. The accident occurred in the vicinity of Lemoine Avenue and Bridge Plaza North. Police officers rushed to the scene and located the individual who was struck by the vehicle.

The victim was a fifty-seven (57) year old female. She was in critical condition and immediately taken by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to the Hackensack University Medical Center.

Law enforcement agents were able to locate and arrest Carmen Lombardi. Lombardi was charged with Third-Degree Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury. He is set to appear at the Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court located in Hackensack, New Jersey on November 3, 2017.

All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
