Chinese Man Assaults Wife with Meat Cleaver, Sentenced to 13 Years
Ming G. Huang, 32, was sentenced to 13 years in prison for attacking his 23 year old wife with a meat cleaver in Chinatown, NYC.
Huang pled guilty to Assault in the First Degree on December 14, 2016. According to Huang, his wife had been unfaithful and he accused her of marrying him only for citizenship papers. The shocking incident was captured on surveillance video, showing Huang attacking his wife in broad daylight.
Huang was seen dragging his wife down the sidewalk of Canal Street on February 24, 2013, while hacking at her body with a meat cleaver. Huang admitted to attacking his spouse, right out in the open of a crowded Chinatown street, and hacked at her until he was tackled by two NYFD officers who were standing nearby.
Huang’s wife sustained multiple lacerations, including two strikes which penetrated her skull and brain, but amazingly survived the attack.
