On July 2nd, 2024, charges against Christopher Bucceroni, age 28, were announced by Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay, and Gloucester Township Police Chief David Harkins. Christopher Bucceroni was charged with third-degree Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and he subsequently turned himself into the police after the incident.
According to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, a hit-and-run collision was reported in the area of Erial Road and Blackwood-Clementon Road, on June 20th, 2024, at approximately 2:27 a.m.. The collision involved a bicyclist and a motor vehicle on the intersection of both streets. The bicyclist was an 18-year old resident of Gloucester Township, and responding officers transported him to Cooper University Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.
An investigation was launched by Detective Samuel Funches of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Response Investigation Team. The investigation revealed that a black SUV struck the bicyclist as it failed to stop in the roadway. Detectives were led to identifying Christopher Bucceroni as the driver of the black SUV that struck the victim, and fleeing after the collision.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Christopher Bucceroni are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
