On October 18th, 2024, Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit officers arrested Christopher Ortiz, 37. This was a result of a report being filed from a juvenile female reporting that she was sexually assaulted in West New York. Christopher Ortiz was charged with Second-Degree Sexual Assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2c(4); Third-Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1); and Fourth-Degree Criminal Sexual Contact in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b.
According to officials, the juvenile was approached by Christopher Ortiz early on the morning of March 11th, 2024. She entered into his vehicle and was then sexually assaulted inside of his residence.
The charges against Christopher Ortiz are only accusations and he will remain innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
