Coach Donald Kumar Davis From Nutley Awaiting Trial for Death by Auto in Lodi Now Faces Charges of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact and Endangering the Welfare of a Child

On December 13, 2023, the Washington Township Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding an allegation of sexual assault of a juvenile. After an investigation was conducted, it revealed that Strength and Speed Coach Donald Kumar Davis, sexually assaulted a child in Washington Township, New Jersey. 

Meanwhile, Donald Kumar Davis was also charged with reckless vehicular homicide in 2019, which ended the lives of an elderly couple who lived in Lodi.  Records show that Donald Kumar Davis, who was speeding, slammed his 2015 Dodge Charger into a 2005 Toyota Corolla. The owners of the Toyota Corolla, Muhamet Oparaku, 68 and his wife, Bukurie Oparaku, 64, were taken to the Hackensack University Medical Center. Upon arrival, the elderly couple were pronounced dead. Davis was also taken to the Hackensack University Medical Center to treat his minor wounds. Later that day, Davis was arrested and later released on bail pending his case. 

On December 29, 2023, Davis was arrested and taken to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing in Hackensack, New Jersey. Davis was charged with two counts of second-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, and two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
