Demarest, Closter Men Arrested for Possession and Drug Distribution of Multiple CDS
BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. (March 22, 2017) — Two men from the Northern Valley have been arrested on drug charges as the outcome of a joint investigation of the Bergen County Prosecutor, Demarest and Closter police departments.
Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrests today of Adam A. Russi, 20, of 242 Hardenburgh Ave., Demarest, and Michael L. Walling, 21, of 279 Demarest Ave., Closter.
They are being charged with offenses related to the possession and intent to distribute heroin, marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, cocaine and LSD.
The joint investigation supervised by Bergen County Chief Robert Anzilotti was underway for two months before the men were arrested Monday, March 20.
A search warrant was served on Russi’s home that day, and found Russi and Walling. Evidence including heroin, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and other equipment for packaging and distribution of drugs were uncovered. The police then executed a warrant at Walling’s home, where they found controlled dangerous substances including LSD psilocybin mushrooms, cocaine, marijuana, hash oil, and more drug distribution paraphernalia.
Russi was arrested without incident and charged with one count of possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, third degree; possession of heroin, third degree; and possession of drug paraphernalia, fourth degree. He was released on recognizance and scheduled for a court appearance April 5 in Central Judicial Processing.
Walling was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute LSD, first degree; possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, third degree; possession of psilocybin mushrooms, third degree; possession of cocaine, third degree, two counts of possession with the intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances within 500 feet of school property, third degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia, fourth degree. He is also released “ROR” and scheduled for an appearance in Central Judicial Processing April 5. Both men are single and unemployed.
