On October 9th, 2019, Investigators from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force performed a traffic stop of a motor vehicle on interstate 95 south in Ridgefield, NJ. After a thorough search of the vehicle, two concealed compartments were discovered.
The compartments contained Two Kilograms of suspected Heroin, a controlled substance. The defendant was arrested and charged with one count of possession with intent to Distribute a controlled dangerous substance, in an amount greater than five ounces, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5B(1), a First Degree crime.
The defendant was transferred to Bergen County Jail to await his first appearance in the Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ. The defendant is thought to be innocent until proven guilty. the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office is under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
