Dwany Cruz of New Brunswick Charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child

On August 16th, 2024, charges against Dwany Cruz, age 26, were announced by the Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Vincent Sabo of the New Brunswick Police Department. Dwany Cruz was charged with third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

According to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, law enforcement was notified of an alleged case involving Dwany Cruz, whom the police said he was making inappropriate physical contact with a minor several times. These allegations prompted an investigation run by Detective Lauren Leyva, of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, and Detective Bill Coleman, of the New Brunswick Police Department. The investigation revealed that Dwany Cruz was employed as a Recreation Assistant at a summer program in New Brunswick at the time of the alleged incidents. 


The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Dwany Cruz are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
