Elizabeth, NJ resident Andrew Burr was arrested for his connection in the killing of a young women in a downtown Elizabeth apartment.

The investigation into the case was led by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office and the Elizabeth Police Department. At around 11:30pm on January 4th, members of the Elizabeth Police Department responded to a request for a welfare check at an apartment on Jacques Street.
When officers arrived at the residence, they found 22-year-old victim Shaquin Ingram with severe bodily injuries. Ingram was later pronounced dead at the scene. A thorough investigation conducted by the Elizabeth Police Department and Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit led to Burr being identified as the main suspect in the case.
Andrew Burr was charged with first-degree murder and two related weapons offenses. Burr was taken into custody without incident and lodged at the Union County Jail pending his first appearance and detention hearing in Union County Superior Court.
