FDNY Man Isaiah Keller Charged for Unprovoked Shooting

On November 21st, 2024, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced charges against FDNY Emergency Technician Isaiah Keller, 26. Isaiah Keller was charged with Attempted Murder in the second degree, two counts of Assault in the first degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree, and Reckless Endangerment in the first degree. District Attorney Melinda Katz commented, “This defendant, who is an FDNY EMT, is entrusted with saving the lives of his fellow New Yorkers. As alleged, Isaiah Keller broke that promise and shot a man in the streets of Astoria in the early morning hours of August 31, causing serious injuries.”

According to the Queens District Attorney’s Office, at around 2:51 a.m., on August 31st, 2024, Isaiah Keller was seen on video surveillance arriving in Astoria, New York. Soon after at approximately 3:55 a.m., Isaiah Keller walked up to the victim, Eric Connor, age 36, and fired two bullets towards him. One bullet hit Eric Connor in the left thigh and the other bullet hit Connor in the right foot. After firing his gun, Isaiah Keller fled the scene.

Isaiah Keller was arrested on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024. Isaiah Keller was then arraigned the following day on November 20th, 2024, following a criminal complaint leading to the charges pending against him.
The Queens District Attorney’s Office states that the charges against Isaiah Keller are merely accusations and he is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
