On March 24th, 2023, the Saddle Brook Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit in relation to an asserted robbery and sexual assault. The SBPD had informed the Prosecutor’s office that the suspect was aggressive in waving a firearm and sexually assaulting the victim before leaving the crime scene on a motorcycle. Former Monroe College Football player, Fokam Parfait, 25, from Montclair, NJ resulted to be the accused suspect of this crime.
The Saddle Brook Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office disclosed that this is not Parfait’s first offense. Parfait had sexually assaulted multiple victims while having a firearm in his possession. The investigation also revealed that Parfait had kidnapped and sexually assaulted one of his victims on one occasion.
Later, on March 31, 2023, Fokam Parfait was arrested in Paramus, NJ and was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault with a firearm, first-degree aggravated sexual assault by physical force, first-degree attempted aggravated sexual assault with a firearm as well as first-degree kidnapping. Parfait is now incarcerated at the Bergen County Jail and is waiting for his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella claims that the charges are only charges and that the accused is presumed innocent unless proven to the contrary beyond a reasonable doubt.
