Francisco Almonte, 29, of New York, has been charged with Death by Auto While Under the Influence of Drugs and/or Alcohol.
The innocent occured in connection with the fatal motor vehicle accident near Route 80 in Woodland Park, New Jersey, on March 9, 2017.
Passaic County Prosecutor Valdes stated that Almonte was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Impala at approximately 6:17 a.m. on March 9, when his vehicle crashed into another car, killing a 20-year-old man. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification to his family.
Almonte faces up to 10 years in prison, if convicted
