Defendant Leonardo L. Perez was arrested and charged with Possession of Child Pornography on October 10th, 2019. The investigation was orchestrated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s office.

In October of 2019, in relation to another existing investigation into the defendant. Representatives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cybercrimes Unit implemented a search warrant at the defendant’s residence. The investigation uncovered that Leonardo L. Perez used the internet to view and download nearly 30,525-digit files displaying sexually explicit images of underage children.

The defendant was arrested on October 10, 2019 in Paramus, NJ and charged with one count of possession of child pornography in an amount greater than 1,000 files, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4(B)5(B)ii, a 2nd degree crime. Leonardo L. Perez was transferred to Bergen county jail to await his first appearance in central judicial processing court in Hackensack, NJ. The charges are accusations and the defendant will remain innocent until proven guilty. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and will be led by Mark Musella
