Pedro Perez was arrested and charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The investigation into the case was led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit and the Garfield Police Department.

On January 23, 2020, the Garfield Police Department were informed that a juvenile under the age of sixteen had been sexually assaulted by Perez on more then one occasion. After a thorough investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Garfield Police Department, Pedro Perez was arrested.
Perez was charged with one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:142a(1), a 1st degree crime; one count of Sexual Assault, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:142c(4), a 2nd degree crime; and one count of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a, a 2nd degree crime. Perez was transported to Bergen County Jail to await his first appearance in the Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ. The charges are accusations and the defendant will remain innocent until proven guilty. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office is under the supervision of Chief Robert Anzilotti. The Garfield Police Department is under the supervision of Chief Raymond Kovach. The prosecution into the case will be led by Mark Musella.
