Johnny Aguilar from Carlstadt, New Jersey, Charged for Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

On September 21st, 2024, charges against Johnny Aguilar, age 32, were announced by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Chief of Police Luis Guzman. Johnny Aguilar was charged with second-degree Death by Auto, for his connection to a fatal car crash in the area of Paulison Avenue and Pennington Avenue in Passaic, New Jersey.

According to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, a motor vehicle accident was reported around Paulison Avenue and Pennington Avenue on September 20th, 2024. Officers from the Passaic Police Department responded and found the victim lying in the middle of the intersection. The victim was identified as 59-year old Carlos Ocasio-Rodriguez, who was riding his motorcycle through the intersection. Carlos Ocasio-Rodriguez was then struck by a Ford Excursion, and later passed away, shortly after being transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital. After a police investigation was conducted, the driver of the Ford Excursion was determined to be Johnny Aguilar. Allegedly, Johnny Aguilar’s blood alcohol content was above the legal limit while operating the vehicle. 


The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Johnny Aguilar are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed guilty unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
