Jose Higinio Ramos Solis Faces Attempted Murder and Weapon Offenses

According to authorities on November 22nd, 2024, the arrest of Jose Higinio Ramos Solis was announced by Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella. Solis faces charges of First-Degree Attempted Murder, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:5-1A(1)/2C:11-3A(1); third-degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, in violation of N.J.S.A. 39-4D; and fourth-degree Possession of a Weapon, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5D.

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, on November 21st, 2024, at 2:56 p.m., Oakland Police responded to a stabbing that was reported on 455 Ramapo Valley Road. Officers arrived to a 53-year old male suffering a serious stab wound and no assailant present. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment immediately upon discovery. The suspect was soon found to be Jose Solis, who was subsequently apprehended by police a short distance from the scene. An investigation was launched by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, and it was revealed that Jose Solis approached the victim and stabbed him with a large knife at the scene. 

Bergen County Prosecutor Musella stated that the charges are accusations and Jose Solis is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
