Husband Murders Woman at Apartment in Jersey City

On October 18, 2017, the Jersey City Police Department dispatched units to the address of 36 Duncan Avenue, Jersey City, after being informed that a woman had been stabbed. When police officers arrived on scene, they found the woman in the hallway, not responding, with stab wounds.
The woman was later found out to be Milagros Rodriguez De Morel, a thirty-eight (38) year old resident living at that apartment in Jersey City. She was pronounced dead shortly after 2:30 a.m.
Soon thereafter, her husband, Jose Morel, a fifty-nine (59) year old resident who also lived at that apartment, was arrested by Jersey City Police Officers. Mr. Morel has been charged with First-Degree Murder, Third-Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Fourth-Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
