Accused Killer Arrested in Second Cold Case Homicide: 2005 Murder of 19-Year-Old Bushwhack Man
Crime seems to be the very true nature of some people as they cannot seem to shake the toga and tunic of crime and criminality that stinks to high heavens whenever you come in contact with such people. An example of such a kind of specie seems to be this 38 year old man going by the name Kwauhuru Govan. He has been indicted in the killing of a teenage woman and was battling with that case only to be arrested for another of such issues all occurring within the same vicinity in Brooklyn New York.
The police commissioner and District attorney in New York, namely James P. O’Neil and Eric Gonzales respectively, jointly announced the re-arrest of Kwauhuru Govan for a new murder just after he had been indicted in an old murder case. Nobody is sure of exactly how many people this man has sent to the great beyond as facts keep emerging linking him to one murder or the other.
The New York police department otherwise known as NYPD have been alarmed at the growing number of unsolved murder cases. These cases also called cold cases were getting too much and this led the authorities and management of the police form to set up a cold cases unit. This unit had the mandate of solving all unsolved murder cases. This unit was well equipped and fortified with a forensic analyst. This analyst can be said to be the game changer as he brings a lot of information to the fore. DNA evidence which was not available before and helped criminals and murderers like Govan in this case get away has become available and put murderers firmly at the scene of crimes with evidence which cannot be faulted.
In 2005 a young man by the name Rashawn Brazell was found murdered in Brooklyn without family members or the police having any clue at that time as to what must have happened to cause this young man’s untimely death. A year before this young man died a young teenage lady going by the name Sharabia Thomas was brutally murdered in cold blood just in her neighborhood in Brooklyn New York. Her body was found in Laundry Bags and evidence suggests that this man kidnapped and killed this lady. DNA evidence obtained by the forensic arm of the cold cases unit within the NYPD put this man firmly at the scene of her murder.
Rashawn’s murder came a year after the teenage lady was murdered and it is a good thing to note that someone is being made to take responsibility for his ruthless and mean streak in seeing to premature ending of the lives of these young promising people. It is noteworthy that family and friends of the victims can have some respite and closure. Rachel singer is the government prosecutor who has the honors of putting this man behind bars when the case is said and done. For the murder of the girl he has been indicted and sentence remains to be handed down yet he has already been rearrested in the ongoing investigation for the murder of this young man.
