Paterson Resident Arrested in Connection with Paterson Billiards Homicide on December 1, 2017

On December 22, 2017, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office broadcasted the arrest of a man named Leroy Hodgson, a thirty-three (33) year old resident of Paterson, New Jersey. Leroy Hodgson was arrested for his connection to a homicide that occurred on December 1, 2017 at Paterson Billiards located at 183 Market Street, Paterson, New Jersey. He is being charged with First-Degree Murder, Second-Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Second-Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Second-Degree Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons.
On December 1, 2017, the Paterson Police Department were immediately notified and responded to shots being fired at Paterson Billiards. After the police officers arrived on scene, they found a thirty-four (34) year old victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim’s name was Dontrelle Horne.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded and transported Horne to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries soon thereafter. The situation escalated as a result of a verbal altercation Leroy Hodgson was having with the victim that resulted in him fatally shooting the victim.
Leroy Hodgson is set to appear at the Central Judicial Processing Court on December 22, 2017.
All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
