On August 1st, 2024, charges against Livia Patelli, age 33, were announced by Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and East Hanover Police Chief Christopher Cannizzo. Livia Patelli was charged with second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(2).
According to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, on July 17th, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers from the East Hanover Police Department were dispatched to respond to a 911 call about an infant being left unattended in a vehicle in the area of South Ridgedale Avenue on Route 10. Responding paramedics attempted to administer lifesaving aid to the six-year old female infant, however, she unfortunately passed away after her transport to a local hospital. An investigation into the incident uncovered that the infant was left alone in the hot vehicle for approximately four and a half hours.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Livia Patelli are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
