Monday June 12, 2017, Louis Cedeno, 50, from Palisades Park was sentenced to 3 years in state prison before Superior Court Judge Frances McGrogan. He was arrested in 2013 after the task force âOperation Ever Vigilantâ conducted a sweep on child pornography in Bergen County.
He pleaded guilty to the second-degree charge of child porn distribution last year. In addition to his prison sentence, Cedeno must register as a sex offender under Meganâs Law. Since his indictment in 2013, there are now stronger penalties for those sentenced for distributing, owning, or making child porn.
After agents of the Operation Ever Vigilants traced videos on a child porn sharing website back to his computer, they obtained a warrant to search his house in February 18, 2013. On his computer they found over 60 sexually explicit pictures and videos of children. Through this 3- month-long investigation, 25 arrests were made, one of those being a male minor.
Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, Colonel Rick Fuentes, strongly asserted, âOur message is clear: We are going after the producers, distributors, and users alike, and we are going to hold them accountable for their horrendous crimes.â
