Palisades Park Resident Charged with Terroristic Threats, Intimidation and Harassment

On October 12, 2017, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office broadcasted the arrest of a man named Nikolay Levinson, a thirty-four (34) year old resident of Palisades Park, for charges relating to terroristic threats, bias intimidation and harassment. Law enforcement agents from several different police departments worked together to make this arrest happen.
Near the end of September 2017, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office were notified of three (3) police officers being harassed and threatened through letters. The letters were also sent to businesses in the Palisades Park area containing racial, homophobic and intimidating messages. There were multiple letters sent, all of which contained the same threatening and intimidating comments.
Law enforcement agents investigated further into the man responsible for the letters and ultimately arrested Nikolay Levinson on October 10, 2017. Nikolay Levinson is being charged with Third-Degree Terroristic threats, Third-Degree Bias Intimidation, and Third-Degree Harassment. He is being held at the Bergen County Jail until his appearance at a detention hearing set for October 16, 2017.
All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
