Nube Toalongo of Hackensack Arrested for Drivers License Forgery, Tampering
HACKENSACK, N.J. (May 18, 2017) — Nube Toalongo of Hackensack was arrested yesterday, May 18 and charged with obtaining a driver’s license using false identification.
Nube Toalongo came to attention when the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office was contacted in April by the State Motor Vehicle Commission. MVC had identified Toalongo as presenting a forged or fraudulent Maryland driver’s license as documentation for obtaining a driving license in this state without having to take the written or road test that is normally required.
An investigation revealed that Toalongo had received a New Jersey driver’s license as a result of the fraud. By presenting the fraudulent license, investigators learned, Toalongo was able to transfer her “out-of-state license” to obtain a valid New Jersey driver’s license with the waiver of knowledge-based and road tests.
The fraud was identified as part of MVC’s ongoing anti-fraud initiative, and Toalongo’s arrest resulted from an investigation conducted by the prosecutor’s Financial Crimes Unit under direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti.
Toalongo, of 114 Lawrence St., has been charged with second degree obtaining a driver’s license by knowingly displaying false documents; and one third degree count of tampering with public records with the purpose to defraud.
Toalongo was charged in a criminal complaint summons and released pending her first appearance in Bergen County Central Judicial Court Wednesday, May 31 at 8:30 a.m.
