Avery Foote of Paramus, NJ was arrested on charges relating to Aggravated Assault and Endangering the Welfare Of A Child.

The investigation was orchestrated by the Bergen County Prosecutors office and the Paramus Police Department. An infant was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center for medical treatment on October 8, 2019. The baby had seemed to be in a great deal of pain.
After a thorough examination, it was discovered that the infant suffered a skull fracture, a broken rib, a broken wrist, and had a retinal bleed. An investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutors office Special Victims’ Unit and the Paramus Police Department uncovered that the child’s biological father was responsible for the injuries.
Avery Foote was charged with one count of aggravated assault in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1b(1), a 2nd degree crime and one count of endangering the welfare of a child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4A, a 2nd degree crime.
The defendant was transported to Bergen County Jail to await his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ. The infant is currently at Hackensack University Medical center in stable condition.
The charges are accusations and the defendant is still presumed to be innocent until proven guilty. The prosecution will be led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
