A pediatric surgeon from Red Bank, New Jersey, has been arrested and charged with Second-Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Fourth-Degree Criminal Sexual Contact.
The incident that led to the charge allegedly occurred on May 1, 2017. Dr. Saad Saad, 71, had a 17-year-old patient in the room and there was alleged sexual misconduct. It appears that a physical examination became inappropriate.
The defense team for Dr. Saad insists that there was no inappropriate conduct and the alleged victim’s mother was in the examination room. He has since been released pending the trial, he has also been assigned to a leave of absence in his practice at Meridian Pediatric Surgical Associates located in Eatontown Borough.
Dr. Saad could face between five and ten years in prison if convicted of the second-degree child endangerment charge, the fourth-degree charge could result in up to a year and a half in prison.
All persons are presumed innocent.
