Hempstead man, Cameron McDermott, 31, now faces additional charges that connect him to the rape and sexual assault of two different women in 2010 and 2013. Both reported being assaulted on multiple occasions while unconscious. The investigation also shows McDermott filmed and took pictures of the women during the attack.
The first series of assault took place in 2010 in the Gramercy and Murray Hill areas. The victim claims she was violated on 8 different occasions. The second woman was raped at an Upper East Side apartment 5 different time in 2013.
McDermott was arrested, by Garden City Police, January 19, 2017 at a parking garage in Hempstead. The police conducted a search where they found sexually explicit video of two underage girls as well as footage of him flashing female victims on his phone and laptop. The defendant had been involved in a series of flashing incidents beginning in September of 2016 and ending this January on Long Island. He would approach women and expose himself, mainly in parking lots or garages, while filming their reaction. The victims ranged in age from 53 to as young as 15 years old.
In addition to the charges of possession of child pornography, endangering the welfare of a child, and public lewdness, he faces a count of Predatory Sexual Assault, first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse, third-degree aggravated sexual abuse and second-degree unlawful surveillance.
