Maywood Resident Charged with Sexual Assault and Child Endangerment

On October 12, 2017, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office broadcasted the arrest of Phillip Cerone, a twenty-seven (27) year old resident of Maywood, New Jersey. Cerone was arrested on charged relating to Sexual Assault and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Maywood Police Department worked together in this investigation.
On October 11, 2017, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office were notified that a young female was sexually assaulted by a man named Phillip Cerone. Law enforcement agents began an investigation into CERONE after being made aware of the situation.
As such, Phillip Cerone was arrested on October 11, 2017 in Maywood, New Jersey. He was charged with Second-Degree Sexual Assault, Second-Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Third-Degree Endangering the Welfare of a child. He is being held at the Bergen County Jail until his appearance at the Bergen County Judicial Processing Court located in Hackensack, New Jersey on October 13, 2017.
All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
