Police have been searching for the second motorcyclist involved in a high speed police chase that ended in the death of a New York man.

On May 9, 2017, a bit passed midnight, a Palisades Interstate Parkway officer was doing a routine speed radar check on the side of the road around Closter Dock Road, when two men in motorcycles appeared going at an exceedingly accelerated rate. The officer attempted to stop the vehicles but instead of pulling over, they increased their speeds and tried to get away.

While the second motorcyclist, now identified as Sheldon Lee, managed to speed away passed the point of visibility, the officer had to stop when he spotted the first motorcyclist on the side of the road. The man was Marlon M. Quiros, 33, of New York City, he was found dead at the scene with his 2010 Yamaha motorcycle by his side.

Since his arrest on June 28, Lee has been charged with a Second-Degree count of Eluding an Officer with a Risk of Death or Injury and a Third-Degree count of Hindering Apprehension by Providing False Information.

Lee is currently held by the New York City Police Department as a fugitive, and is waiting to be extradited to New Jersey.

All persons are assumed are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
