On January 15th, 2024, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announced the arrest of Christine Reyes, age 37. Christine Reyes was charged with one count of third-degree Insurance Fraud.
According to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, they received a report of Christine Reyes providing false information in relation to receiving insurance coverage for her car. Allegedly Christine Reyes’ did this in order to receive reimbursement from a previous incident of her vehicle being stolen. However, Christine Reyes already received coverage from the prior theft.
The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against ChristineReyes are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
