On April 22nd, 2024, the arrest of Saul Huamani-Rosas, age 26, was announced by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In-Charge Isa Abbassi. Samuel Sparks was charged with first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, second-degree Aggravated Assault, third-degree Aggravated Assault, a disorderly persons offense of Criminal Michief, and the petty disorderly persons offense of Harassment.
According to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, on April 21st, 2024, a report was received about Saul Huamani-Rosas, allegedly sexually assaulting and strangling a 23-year old female that Saul Huamani-Rosas was in an “abusive relationship” with. An investigation launched by the Paterson County Prosecutor’s Office discovered that the reported incident took place in a private Paterson residence at approximately 5:00 p.m., on April 20th, 2024. Saul Huamani-Rosas was charged and taken into custody without incident on April 21st, 2024.
The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the charges against Saul Huamani-Rosas are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
