A New Jersey substitute teacher was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a minor. Nataly Lopez, 27, was a substitute teacher at Elizabeth Public Middle School No. 3.
She has been charged with First-Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, Second-Degree Sexual Assault, and Third-Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Lopez allegedly brought a student into her car on at least two separate occasions, during which
they were involved in “sexual acts”. The two also spoke online for a few weeks, their messages
were quite sexually explicit.
She was hired by the school through a company that hires out substitute teachers to the district
therefore she was not a direct employee. Nataly Lopez has since been banned from working there after
the allegations came out and she was arrested. A conviction could result in at least 10, up to 20, years in prison.
All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
