Volunteer Firefighter and EMT Zachary Motta Indicted with Charges of Producing Child Pornography

Zachary Motta, 22, of Iselin, New Jersey, worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and as a volunteer firefighter in his hometown and is now being charged with creating child pornography. He would send messages to a young boy asking him to send nude pictures of himself.

The alleged communication began in October 2016, when Motta began talking to a boy who made it clear he was 12 years old. The messages were quite sexually explicit, with Motta sending the minor pictures of himself wearing his firefighter and EMT uniforms. Motta asked the minor for pictures of himself and the minor sent pictures of genitals twice.

Motta warned the child, “Just don’t get caught.”

If convicted on the count of sexual exploitation of a child, the sentence is a mandatory minimum of 15 years and up to 30 years coupled with a $250,000 fine.

All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
