Tara Cardinale of Washington Township, NJ, was arrested and charged with Endangering The Welfare of a Child and Criminal Sexual Contact. The investigation into the case was cooperated by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the Paramus Police Department, and the Washington Township Police Department.

On December 29, 2019, the Paramus Police Department received information that Tara Cardinale, a NJ State Licensed Therapist at a private school in Paramus, NJ, engaged in sexual activities with an underage student.
A thorough investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutors Office Special Victim’s Unit, the Paramus Police Department, and the Washington Township Police Department uncovered that Tara Cardinale, on numerous occasions, invited the student to her home in Washington Township, NJ where they engaged in sexual activity.
On January 10, 2020, Tara Cardinale was arrested and charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a 2nd degree crime; and one count of Criminal Sexual Contact, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3b, a 4th degree crime. Tara Cardinale was transported to the Bergen County Jail where she awaited her first appearance at the Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
The charges are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office is under the supervision of Chief Robert Anzilotti. The Paramus Police Department is under the supervision of Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg. The Washington Township Police Department is under the supervision of Chief Richard Skinner. The prosecution into the case will be led by Mark Musella.
